The methods of our self-defense programme for adolescents differs widely from the kids’ self-defense in various aspects. Adolescents are able to communicate about topics and problems such as violence, aggression, abuse etc. Based on this maturity, adolescents are taught defense techniques for given situations. Due to improved physical strength, adolescents are taught that they do have a chance to fight back appropriately. This can be done with simple defense and release techniques, motion patterns, punching and kicking techniques.
Again, prevention (What can I do or do not in order to avoid peril?), verbal tools (screaming, saying “No!”), organising help, tactics (dexterity, principles of escape, distances), using tools (mobile, everyday items) etc. are integral parts of the classes.
According to their wishes and needs, boys and girls may be taught together or separately.
