KRAV MAGA FOR KIDS
The concept for self-defense for children and adolescents between 4 and 18 years of age has been devised according to pedagogic principles and is taught, one the one hand, in ongoing courses at the AKMA Headquarters and, on the other hand, in workshops, e.g. in PE classes at schools. Teachers as well as parents or students initiate such courses for prevention in which potential victims and aggressors alike are addressed and are given a chance to reflect their respective behaviour.
Krav Maga Kids – 8 to 10 years
Krav Maga Juniors – 11 to 13 years
Krav Maga Youth – 14 to 18 years
The Krav Maga Programme for Children teaches young children, age 7 to 10, (Kids) and age 11 to 13 (Juniors) in both playful and realistic scenarios to defend themselves, and to fight back, to take their stands. For the Youth group, age 14 to 18, relevant content, techniques and demands are added.
Now more than ever, children need to have the chance for physical activity, to develop dexterity and flexibility and to develop a healthy dose of self-esteem and confidence.
The specially schooled Krav Maga Kids and Youth Instructors never forget that! More contents of the training are coordination, balance and understanding of the body. It is not the aim to act out scary situations, even though understanding appropriate behaviour in dangerous environments is part of the training. The concept for self-defense for children focuses on age-oriented methods with a lot of fun!
We do not pretend to teach secret techniques and tricks which might convey a wrong and exaggerated idea of safety, but we rather deal with the following topics:
Children learn defense and release techniques as well as punching and kicking techniques in a playful environment. Preventively dealing with the problems of violence and aggression are supposed to teach the children safe and confident behaviour.
